A Ryerson students' group has launched Protests to Profits, a campaign to promote small businesses on Yonge St. and on Queen St. W. that suffered during last month's G20 upheaval.

Along with riot police and fake lakes, one of the iconic images of the G20 was the security fence. Ugly and imposing, it was wildly expensive, costing more than $9 million — and now it's gone. Just imagine what it could have been.
